It is finished . When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar ,he said , It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost(John 19:30). Crucifixion day was God carrying a sentence on Himself , so that you and I don’t have to serve a jail term. God decided to satisfy the demands of His own faithfulness to Himself. The crucifixion of Jesus was a manifestation of God’s love for you . It is a time God told man come down and I will take your place. Surely He hath borne our griefs , and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken,smitten of God,and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed(Isaiah 54:4-5). Thank you Jesus for redeeming us.
